Red Summer

Enjoy this succession of brilliant red flowers throughout the summer. Set amongst a sea of green and purple foliage, the dramatic tall red poppy flowers early in the season well before anything else. At the height of summer, the border really creates a vibrant crescendo of colour and the hot tones are cooled slightly by a couple of icy blues and purples.

Planting tips:

Once the perennials have finished flowering, cut the dead folaige down and they will shoot up again from the base in the following spring. Mulch around the plants in spring with a generous layer of composted organic matter and dead-head the flowers as they fade to encourage more to form.

This design will fit into a border 3.5m long by 1.75m wide
