How-to grow your own easy fruit & veg
Why not try these three simple projects…
1. Vegetable pots
Carrots and potatoes are really easy to grow from seed in pots or containers and require very little care, other than making sure they're kept watered. Other easy vegetables that can be grown in pots are peas, courgettes, beetroot, tomatoes and dwarf beans. Simply use a deep pot, line the bottom with stones, broken pots or old polystyrene to help drainage. Then, fill pots with compost and plant your veg and water. Remember to follow the care card planting instructions.2. Herb or salad leaves window boxes
Salad leaves and herbs are really easy to grow from seed in a pot or window box. Fill three quarters of your pot with compost, sprinkle on the seeds and cover with a thin layer of compost. Water regularly and watch your plants grow. Simply cut off the leaves with a pair of scissors when required.3. Easy care fruit trees
Fruit trees will supply you with tasty fruit for years to come, and they need surprisingly little care. Plant a self fertile fruit tree in a large pot, line the bottom with stones, broken pots or old polystyrene plant packs to help drainage and top up with compost. Water, feed and await your fruit. Look for self fertile fruit trees or read the care cards to know which trees to plant together to ensure fruit crops.search

When raking up leaves put a large bag (the type used by builders with handles) in the wheelbarrow, you can collect more that way and they don't fall out all the time when wheeling them to the pile.
