There are lots of great recipes for this variety of broccoli.
I have once been in a similar situation to you and one search on the internet referred me to bbcgoodfood.co.uk
My particular favourite (although simple) is Grilled lamb with broccoli & anchovy sauce. Being a huge fan of meat and especially lamb, I recomnmend giving it a try. Beats steaming it I suppose :)
So...I've got tons of it, which is great. But we're getting bored of it now! Anyone got anything other than "Steam it" to offer?! Posted by TheAllotmentBotherer
Hi, try this: boil the broccolli until it's getting tender and then fry it in a little oil, garlic and chilli or chilli flakes. Cook until it goes a little brown. It's delicious! :0) Another nice recipe is to put the broccolli into a cheese sauce and serve it like cauliflower cheese; one of my favourites!

Seedlings can be moved into a larger container when there are at least 4 leaves on each little seedling. Brassicas such as broccoli like to be planted into a modified 'hardened soil'. It's suggested you add lime to your soil to prevent infamous club foot roots and fertilise with bone meal. Before planting, press down the plot of compost with your foot or the back of your hoe to create the compacted soil brassicas like. Plant seedlings about a foot apart and water to encourage root growth.
Many gardeners have had problems with birds picking at their purple broccoli. Try a netting to avoid this pest problem. Pick broccoli spears as they sprout to about a finger's length. If there are any baby sprouts at the bottom of the bigger sprout, try to leave these behind for faster sprouting times. Picking the broccoli sprouts encourages growth in general.
Not the easiest plant to grow, but very rewarding! Let us know if anyone tries their hand growing PSB!
