We have a medium size lawn, and as we are in our middle years we would prefer a self propelled lawn mower, but that about as far as it goes. Can anyone advise a good value mower for a reasonable price please. We had a great lawn mower that lasted years, when it finally gave up and we replaced it, and the new one broke down after a year!! We now need some help to make the right choice.
If you can afford the higher outlay, I'd strongly recommend a Bosch Rotak LI rechargeable mower. It's wonderful to be cordless and the Rotak is much superior to a petrol mower for all but the biggest lawns: lighter, much quieter, no petrol to buy/store/fill, no routine servicing apart from cleaning.
The 34cm version is fine for smaller lawns, up to about tennis court size, but it sounds as though you may need the 43cm. The battery recharges in less than 90 minutes.
Just one word of warning - replacement batteries are expensive But Bosch claim the original should last 5-10 years, so the saving in fuel compared with a petrol mower should cover the cost of a new battery.

Lawn gurus - would you mind telling us a few things that are important to look for in a new lawn mower? Strength? Electric/eco friendly? A good company that makes mowers that you stood by throughout the years?
We're looking for mower info and I just know there has to be some gardeners out there that have had experience with different mowers! Tell us your thoughts and experiences!
