I lose track of posts; I think I have finally found out why
On the main menu there is a sub thread called Get Into Gardening. Because the whole website is called Get into Gardening I dont realise I am in a subthread so dont realise I can go back to a main menu. If newcomers also have this problem it may be one reason why the site is underused
Blossom, This really is the most user unfriendly website going! If only the Moderator would reply, or at least take our comments seriously and action the suggestions!

No problem - I have heard back from the developer and they are looking into the back end system to see how this can be improved if possible. I have been told it is quite extensive work but they are very grateful it has been flagged to them. As soon as I hear anymore I will let you know.
Just a quick update for you - I have spoken to the developer and there should be some improvements at the back end of the year but in the mean time there are a couple of points he said that you may already know but just in case:
When you go into each of the forum categories to the main discussion section where there is a star means that you have not read this post yet/ there are new posts waiting for you - this helps me out a lot when seraching to know what the latest posts are.
Also do you subscribe to discussions? in the top there is a subscribe buttton with an envelope icon and when you click this iut will alert you when someone has replied to the discussion you have set up or a discussion you have got involved in. The system does not subsribe you to a discussion automatically becuase you would be bombarded with emails but again a good way to keep trackl of who has replied to posts.

Is there anywhere your posts are logged. I was on a forum where you cvould just click 'your posts' so you could see if anyone had answered rather than having to remeber what you'd said in which bit...
indeed, im totally unclear of how this website is supposed to work. when a competition is advertised its unclear whether its even possible to enter, does a post of any sort suffice. Im usually quite quick on the uptake but find your site instructions incredibly fuzzy.if I was giving a more general point i would have asked people how they think i could tackle trying to get other residents to agree to do something about our bland communal garden before spring sets in, but as a new resident i need to not rock boats though im anxious to do something with it.
